I have accepted an offer to join China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) this upcoming academic year in 2024 as an Associate Professor in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management.
Prior to CEIBS, I worked as an Assistant Professor of Management and Organisation at NUS Business School at National University of Singapore in Singapore and an Assistant Professor of Management at SKK Graduate School of Business, Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) in Seoul, South Korea. I conduct research that mainly focuses on both employee creativity and employee deviance and unethical behaviors. Both are critical norm violating behaviors - one challenges common sense and the other violates the moral norm. My research draws on theories of psychological processing, social cognition, and judgment and decision-making to study these two prominent areas that concern employees’ personal and organizational lives. My work has been published multiple times in top-tier journals such as Nature Mental Health, Journal of Applied Psychology (JAP), Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Personnel Psychology, and Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, as well as specialty journals such as Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Vocational Behavior, and Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology. I was selected as one of the "18 influential under 40" Business Professors by Singapore Business Review in 2016, and my research has also been covered and featured in various media outlets, such as CNNMoney, Fortune magazine, Huffington Post, Bloomberg Businessweek, South China Morning Post and Psychology Today. Additionally, I serve as the ad-hoc reviewers for Journal of Applied Psychology, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Perspectives, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Personnel Psychology, Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business and Psychology, and Human Resource Management Journal. I was the recipient of the 2021 Journal of Applied Psychology Reviewer Award (1 of the 3 winners out of 800+ ad hoc reviewers). He is presently a member of the editorial boards for JAP, PPsych, and JBP. Editorial board member:
